Cargill Tyson Equestrian proudly presents on behalf of owners, "Pilgrim".
Pilgrim is a 5yo TB gelding. He has been with us around 2 weeks for training and during that time he has shown a lovely temperament and quiet attitude. He has been straight forward to ride but can be lazy and needs a rider willing to kick to get him to go forward and soften into a frame. He hasn't done any spooks during this time or demonstrated any naughty behaviours whilst in training. Unfortunately, during his stay we have discovered he is presenting with mild symptoms of shivers, we have had the vet see him and he agreed there was some mild symptoms present. He feels very sound to ride in walk, trot and canter and would most likely be capable of doing small jumps competitions etc. but we have been mostly concentrating on his flat work. He does struggle a bit with reinback although can do it when backing off the float etc. We feel he is best suited to a pleasure riding home or low level performance/arc home. He does also appear to have a cataract in one eye but it doesn't seem to affect his vision. Both his owners and us are interested in finding him a loving home as he definitely has a lot to offer the right family. We are currently considering offers of $1000 due to the shivers symptoms and cataract. Despite these issues, he is a really sweet, genuine horse for with a basic education under his belt. He definitely has the potential to be a very quiet, safe, long-term partner and best friend for the right rider.
