Cargill Tyson Equestrian presents for sale “Finn” aka “Valsippi”. He is a 6yo (15/12/14) just over 16hh Warmblood Gelding by Valhalla (IMP) out of a Daley K mare.Valhalla is a top quality Dutch warmblood stallion by Quattro B out of a Clinton mare. He is a phenomenal stallion combining striking good looks and extraordinary jumping ability with many wins and placings in Grand Prix competition having qualified for Olympic selection. He is out of a mare by Daley K who needs no introduction being one of the most influential stallions in Australian showjumping breeding producing many elite progeny who have been competed successfully all over the country with many being sold overseas and going on to have international show jumping careers. Finn is a true representation of his breeding with exceptional conformation, type, looks, paces and most importantly jumping ability. Finn is one of the most exciting jumping horses we have had come through our yard, ever! He may not be super tall but he is scopey enough with an outstanding ground covering canter to be a serious prospect for the highest levels of the sport. He is well educated on the flat with a good foundation of basics. He is forward in walk and trot and easily works in a consistent frame. He is still developing strength and suppleness in the canter but it is a quality canter and will feel amazing once he is able to sit a little bit more. He is established in leg yield and turns off the outside aids and is happy to bend around the inside leg. He is responsive and balanced for his age and travels very well to a fence. Ben has been jumping him up to 100cm and he has good natural technique, really uses his back and neck and has an exceptional sharp back end. He is extremely careful and a very big, airy jumper. He has jumped an array of different fill with Ben including barrels and tarps and is very bold to a fence, however he is exuberant and playful at times and will need an experienced and confident rider as it is not unusual for him to get excited after a fence and have a pigroot or a few humps. He also needs a rider who is secure in their jumping position and can remain balanced over a fence with a generous release as he can get a little offended if you don’t give him enough room for his back end to come through. We have found him to be very easy to handle on the ground. He has been floated a lot and been ridden in different environments. He has travelled to us regularly for jumping lessons and also for the occasional stint of training. We have found him to be easy to catch, tack up, lead, clip etc. Under saddle, he does need an experienced rider to be able to continue producing him to reach his full potential. Although we haven’t really found him to be spooky to a fence (or if he is unsure, he tends to still jump - just bigger), he can be spooky with sudden visual or auditory changes in his environment and can be playful and exuberant after a spook so he is not suitable for any nervous riders. He could potentially make an outstanding event horse too as he is not a heavy horse and he is brave to a fence and could do very well in eventing dressage but will need a very experienced rider to start his cross country career as we think he will find cross country very fun and can imagine him being very enthusiastic over a fence and between the fences. Finn is an elite horse with a serious talent for jumping and a lot of potential to succeed at FEI level however we are looking for a specific rider for him. Preferably someone who has experience with playful jumping bred youngsters and will be the boss of him at home and in the ring. He should be ready to get out to shows and jump competitively by the time the spring season comes along. He would benefit from further exposure and desensitisation in his day-to-day training over the winter months in preparation for the commencement of his competition career. There will be no stopping this horse from blazing his way up the jumping levels if he finds a partner that can channel his energy into his jumping! He certainly jumps for fun. Located Nyora VIC
