Fleur

Cargill Tyson Equestrian proudly presents for sale “Fleur” aka “Equine Affair Fantasia”. 7yo 16hh WB Mare. Her bloodlines include Cerando, Purioso, Mr F and Fantastique. Fleur is an absolutely stunning bright bay warmblood with lots of bling. She has excellent conformation and a really sweet, affectionate temperament. She is a modern eventing type with her fine build and elegant, uphill front. She has a unique athleticism for a full wb, and we can see her going on to the highest levels of eventing with the right rider. She has 3 quality paces with a clear 4 beat walk, expressive trot and exceptionally balanced adjustable canter. She is easy to sit on and very willing to stretch down. She is soft in the mouth and easy to ride in a frame but can still be a little unsteady at times in the contact. She is responsive to stop, go turn and yield and is currently developing her lateral suppleness to help her become a bit more secure in the connection to the bridle. She has established leg yield, shoulder in, walk canters, counter canter and is training travers, canter walks etc. She has a talent for flying changes. She is currently competing EV80cm with multiple dressage scores above 70% including 75% at Wandin HT and 71% at the recent Woady Yaloak HT. She has multiple placings at EV80cm including 3rd place at Heytesbuy HT and Woady Yaloak HT. She is currently competing 110cm straight show jumping and wouldn’t be too far off stepping up to bigger heights. She is a very capable jumper that jumps easily in a rhythm and is schooling 130cm fences at home but is still gaining her confidence on cross country. She has picked up the odd stop eventing on cross country in the early stages of her career at fences the first time she has seen them but she has always gone over the fence the second time, and never been eliminated. She has now completed a season of EV80cm and we feel she is ready to step up to EV95 with a confident cross country rider, or it wouldn’t hurt her to do some more 80’s. Once she knows what she is doing, she is very brave and we feel that she will go on to be an elite eventing athlete with a rider prepared to take her xc schooling regularly and build her confidence. Due to COVID and our busy schedules, the only XC she has done has been on course so she hasn't had as much exposure as ideal. As a show jumper she has excellent technique, tight in front with a sharp back end. She uses her back and neck over a fence and makes a good shape. We have found her to be very good to handle on the ground. Easy to catch, shoe, float, truck, worm, clip… etc. She is great in the yards at shows and generally doesn’t get too spooky in her surroundings. We have taken her trail riding a lot and she is really good. Ben has been schooling her over technical xc lines on the arena the same as the FEI horses for the past 6 months and she is so rideable through the tougher lines we can really see the makings of an FEI eventing superstar in the future. Although she has only competed EV80cm, she was in full dressage and jumping training at home for the 12 months of covid with no exposure at shows/cross country so she feels far above that level and has far more education than your average 80 horse. Although she is very sensible 99% of the time, she can be sensitive to get on. We purchased her after she was already broken in and have produced her professionally for the past few years. She has never actually bucked under saddle and no-one has ever fallen off her but she can get tight when you first hop on at home or at shows but we have always managed this professionally. We usually don’t lunge her before we hop on anymore but would recommend her new rider to give her a quick lunge before they ride as they are getting to know her as it just makes it easier. Ben also has taught her to relax her back when you first hop on if she is feeling tight and can show her new rider how to do this. She can also get a little horse shy in the warm up at shows although this has been getting better every start and we think eventually this will go away with more exposure. This is a seriously talented horse for a rider with huge eventing ambition but due to her quirks we are selling her at a fraction of her worth. She is really not that bad, but we do not want her to going to the wrong people. The home/rider is the most important factor in finding her new home so at this stage we will be considering a range of offers around 12 - 15k, with a competent/experienced home being the priority as we really want to see her achieve her potential. Ben is pretty sad to have to sell this horse as he has been producing her as one of his future top end eventing prospects for over 2 years but our business is continuing to expand and clients horses come first unfortunately.
