Harry

Cargill Tyson Equestrian proudly presents for sale on behalf of owner “Harry”. He is an 3.5yo 15.2hh approx Arabian Warmblood Gelding. He is by show jumping super star “Calavino” (Catoo x Calido I) and out of a Arabian Warmblood mare by Gymnastik Star who jumped tracks up to 130cm. Harry is a totally adorable, exceptionally well bred for performance smaller warmblood gelding with a remarkable, quiet temperament. He was bred by his current owners who have had 3 generations of the dam line and very well broken in by Glenn Browitt. He is very eye catching with his cute markings and rich bay colour. He has very flashy paces with a very extravagant, ground covering trot with good hind leg action and a huge stride length in canter for a little horse! His canter is relatively balanced for his level and he is happy to tick along in a good rhythm. He has a good walk with a clear 4 beat rhythm. He is only 3.5yo and still building muscle and strength but his paces are definitely showing great promise for the future as a successful performance horse. In the contact he accepts the bit and is willing to work in a frame. He is learning to stretch down which will be helpful for him in building up his muscles. He is very responsive to a half halt and very easy to make downward transitions on. (Definitely more woah than go!!) He can be a bit lazy at times but is getting more responsive, and responds well to the dressage whip to remind him to stay forward. He tends to still fall in and out a little bit but is easy to correct and becoming straighter and more consistently forward each ride. We have found him to be exceptionally quiet and super sensible to ride especially considering his age. He feels very calm and safe under saddle and has been consistently ridden by smaller lady riders including young teenagers since his breaking and throughout his training with us. His behaviour has been truly impeccable since his arrival with us with not a single shy, pigroot - anything! He has a truly one in a million temperament for a horse of his age. He has just commenced jumping and not surprisingly given his breeding, he is a very, very talented jumper. He is naturally sharp in front and wow, what a backend! He loves jumping and took to it like a duck to water showing that he is brave and willing to a variety of different fences and fill. He makes a good shape already using his back and neck over a fence. Considering he is still green and a bit weak in the canter, his jumping ability is even more impressive and we can not wait to see what that scope turns into when he is older and stronger. He is rhythmic to a fence and very easy to see a distance. Due to his age we have only been able to jump him over smaller fences but if he was a bit older he would come along super quickly as he is such a natural. He has been out on the local roads and trails around our house and was an absolute pleasure. He loves hacking out and is confident approaching new surroundings. We have found him to have very good ground manners, easy to catch, lead, tie up, tack up etc. As he is still so young, green and talented we would prefer him to go to a home with some level of young horse experience although he is probably quiet and straight forward enough for a capable teenager to bring on as a first young horse alongside a good coach. He will make an outstanding junior/pony club/ inter school performance horse in the not-so-distant future and although we have no doubts he will excel in any chosen discipline but we are especially excited to see what he goes on to achieve as a show jumper.
