About the horse

Figaro is a beautiful 7yo 17hh  Clydie X Stock Horse gelding.  Prior Experience   He was purchased by his current owner to do eventing with but unfortunately due to time constraints she has to move him on. Previously he had done pony club, lessons, clinics and trail riding having schooled 110cm showjumping and cross country. He is well schooled on the flat and is showing huge talent in this area.   Temperament  We have found Figaro to have a lovely temperament under saddle. He is sensible and reliable and enjoys his work. He can be a little inpatient and grumpy on the ground at times, but does better with this when he settles into a routine. It is nothing bad, but he is a big horse so is probably requires a competent handler.   Paces  Figaro has lovely, big paces. He has a good active walk with clear overtrack , a floating, swingy trot and a beautiful scopey yet comfortable canter with excellent ground cover.   Dressage Training Rhythm  - Figaro maintains  a regular, consistent rhythm even when you soften the reins. Happy to tick along at whatever pace you set. He is forward without feeling hot. Happy to wait in the rhythm and moves up easily when asked.  Suppleness - He is willing to bend both ways and understands the basics of inside leg to outside connection. He could bend more through the right ribcage but this is getting a lot better with every ride. He feels very elastic and supple over the back and is willing engage his whole body and push.  Contact - Figaro is very steady and secure in the contact and has an absolutely stunning neck set with an elegant arch, and an eye-catching outline sure to impress the dressage judges. This horse has a definite wow factor!   Jumping Figaro is a willing jumper, he is honest and although he’s not a world-beater jumper, he tries really hard and his we feel his technique will further improve with more strength and gymnastic training. He is very bold and straightforward enough for a novice/intermediate rider to continue on with his jumping training.  He is a big horse, but he doesn’t tend to get too strong, and travels easily between fences. He sure seems to have the attitude and trainability to progress through the eventing levels quickly and successfully.   Rider Suitability  Figaro is an absolutely stunning and versatile performance prospect. He has everything going for him to success in his new riders cho Located Nyora, VIC.
